Kuala Lumpur was our last stop on the way over to Australia. We stayed in KL for 3 weeks visiting Erica's relatives and doing some sight seeing.
Kl is quite a big city, but there isn't a lot of high rise buildings. They have stretched everything out quite a bit. We stayed over at an aunty of Erica who was kind enough to give her bed to us.

We spend the first couple of days visiting some of the numerous relatives that Erica has over in KL. I don't remember the exact day. After a couple days we headed out to Genting, a famous resort town of Malaysia up in the mountains. There were lots of casino's, an indoor and outdoor theme parks and lots of hotels. We wanted to head into one of the casino's, but since I was wearing shorts we weren't allowed in. So we walked around the area a bit and after going all the way around I decided to give 1 of the attractions a try. It was a sky diving simulation were you are put into a wind tunnel and 200km/h wind is blown at you so you float in mid air :p It was an awesome experience and I would do it again and I would love to try our real skydiving :p We decided on taking the cable car down the mountain and then the bus back home. But we found out there wasn't a direct bus so we needed to take the monorail as well :p The monorails is driven fully automatic, by this I mean there is no driver in the train :p It was a little strange to see, but it worked very well. After arriving at the end station of the monorail we still needed to get a cab ride home, but the cab drivers weren't that keen on taking us and they kept on discussing who would take us :s Finally they decided after about 10-15 minutes.

After a good nights rest we headed out into the city to see the famous Petronas Towers. They weren't as impressive as I thought they would be :(
After visiting the towers we headed out to Thean Hou Temple one of the bigger temples in KL. The temple was nice, but not as impressive as some of the temples we saw in Penang.
Next we headed to one of the malls. They have several massive malls where you could lose yourself for hours :) Ever since we saw a pamphlet of the fish spa's in Penang we wanted to try them out. And as luck had it there was one of them in the mall.
So we decided on getting our spa on. A little explanation might be in order. At the fish spa lots of tiny little fish eat away the dead skin from your body. We decided to get a half hour treatment after having washed our feet and put a special enzyme on, which attracts the fish :p, we sat down at one of the tubs and put our feet in the water. The feeling is very strange the fish bites feels very thickly. And since I'm very ticklish I had a hard time getting used to it. But eventually I did get used to it :p
After the fish spa and some walking around we headed out to the another part of the city. This part had all the government buildings and there were some very nice buildings :)

We spend the next couple of days relaxing, ordering in pizza and McDonalds :p Then it was time to meet some more of Erica's relatives. So headed out to meet them and since we were going on a day trip the next day we stayed out at there overnight :)
So the next day we headed out to some of the sights that are located a little further away. We headed out to a park first and then we headed out to Batu caves. Batu caves is a temple that's carved out of a cavern, the catch it though that you have to get up a long long long set of stairs. And there is no cover at the stairs so we were climbing them in the intense heat :p After Batu caves it was time to head to Royal Selangor, the worst biggest pewter producer. We were surprised to find that the guided tour in the factory was completely free and even included a free drink :) (I have 2 :p) We even got to try out some of the things they do in the factory, it was very hard :p and we kinda sucked :p Next we headed back into the city and had a look at some more of the buildings. We also headed back to the Petronas tower to have a look at them by night and all lit up :)

A few days later we headed to Malacca to have the famous chicken rice (the rice is in rolled into a ball :) ). Other then the chicken rice we also had pork satay which you can only get in Malacca :)
We did some sight seeing as well, but apart from an ancient dutch fort there wasn't much to be seen in Malacca.

That was all the sightseeing we did. Apart from sight seeing we did a lot of eating. And one of the last days they organized a feast with all the family which was nice :)
